The Real Question

The most common question we get at Wild Willies is simple: how much lift do I actually need? The answer depends on how you use your truck every day. Our Wild Willies Signature Covert Edition is a 2-inch leveled build that eliminates factory rake, fits 35-inch tires, and keeps your truck comfortable and capable without overcomplicating things. Our Wild Willies Signature Everest Edition is a full 4-inch suspension lift that raises the entire truck, unlocks 35 or 37-inch tires, and delivers a stance that is impossible to ignore.

Both are built right. Both turn heads. The difference is in how far you want to go.

The Wild Willies Covert Edition

The Covert Edition starts with something that bothers a lot of F-150 owners right out of the dealership: factory rake. Ford builds the truck with the nose sitting lower than the rear, and it has always been an eyesore. Our 2-inch leveling setup corrects that immediately. The front comes up, the truck sits flat, and the whole stance changes.

From there, we pair the level with Fox 2.0 performance coilovers rather than cheap spacer kits. This is the detail that separates a Covert Edition from a budget leveling job. Fox coilovers change how the truck rides every single day, not just how it looks. The result is a truck that sits level, wears 35x12.50-inch tires on properly offset wheels, fills the wheel wells the way they should be filled, and drives close to factory comfort.

  • Fox 2.0 Performance Coilovers
  • 35x12.50 or 34” Tires
  • Negative Offset Wheels (20x10 at -18 to -25)
  • Factory Rear Suspension Retained

The Covert Edition is the build for the daily driver who wants a serious, aggressive look without changing everything about the way the truck handles. It is clean, it is intentional, and it makes a stock F-150 look completely different from every angle.

The Wild Willies Everest Edition

The Everest Edition is a different conversation entirely. This is a full 4-inch suspension lift, front and rear, built around a complete Fox suspension kit with front coilovers and matched rear shocks. At this height, the factory upper control arms cannot keep up with the geometry demands of the lift, so every Everest Edition build includes aftermarket high-clearance upper control arms to bring everything back into alignment. There are no shortcuts taken here.

The payoff is a truck that commands every parking lot it pulls into. Ground clearance goes up significantly. Tire size opens up to 35 or 37-inch rubber on 20 or 22-inch wheels. The approach angle improves. The suspension travel increases. And the overall presence of the truck on the road is something a 2-inch level simply cannot replicate.

  • Full Fox Suspension Kit (Front + Rear)
  • Aftermarket Upper Control Arms
  • 35” or 37” Tires
  • 20” or 22” Aftermarket Wheels

Standing next to a stock F-150, the Everest Edition does not look like a modified truck. It looks like a completely different vehicle.

Which One Is Better for Daily Driving?

For daily driving, the Covert Edition is tough to beat. Ride quality stays close to stock, parking garages and drive-throughs are still manageable, and the larger tires do not wear on you during a long highway commute. If most of your miles are on roads and highways, the Covert Edition gives you everything you want from a lifted truck without any of the trade-offs.

The Everest Edition is absolutely still a great daily driver, but the taller stance and bigger tires mean you will feel the difference in tighter spots and on rougher pavement. For the owner who wants maximum presence and plans on getting their truck off the pavement regularly, that trade-off is worth every bit of it.

Which One Is Better Off-Road?

The Everest Edition takes this one easily. More suspension travel, greater ground clearance, and the ability to clear 37-inch tires means it handles trails, mud, and rough terrain in ways the Covert Edition cannot match. The factory rear suspension retained on the Covert Edition is the limiting factor once things get serious off the pavement.

That said, the Covert Edition on 35s is no slouch. It handles mild to moderate off-road situations far better than any stock F-150 and more than holds its own on packed trails, fire roads, and light mud.

What You Need to Know Before You Build

A few things we tell every customer before they commit to either build.

Does the Covert Edition actually fit 35s? Yes. With the right negative-offset wheel and our Fox coilover setup, 35x12.50 tires fit on a 2021 through 2025 F-150 without rubbing. Some newer trim levels need a minor front crash bar trim, but our installers handle that as a standard part of every Covert build.

Why do Everest Edition builds require new upper control arms? At 4 inches of lift, the factory arms are pushed past their designed geometry range. That causes poor CV axle angles, accelerated ball joint wear, and handling that does not feel right. Every Everest Edition includes aftermarket upper control arms to correct this. It is not optional, and we would never build one without them.

Do you need an alignment after either build? Every single time. Both the Covert and Everest Edition change your suspension geometry. Every build that leaves Wild Willies goes out the door with a proper alignment. This is non-negotiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 2-inch lift worth it on an F-150?

Absolutely. The Covert Edition transforms the look of an F-150, gets rid of the factory rake, and opens things up for 35-inch tires while keeping the ride quality close to what you are used to. Learn more about the Covert Edition.

Will lifting my F-150 affect my warranty?

Aftermarket suspension modifications can impact your powertrain warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, but only for issues directly caused by the modification. Dealer-installed lift packages are often treated differently than aftermarket work, so we always recommend checking with your Ford dealer before you commit.

Do I need an alignment after my build?

Every single time. Both the Covert and Everest Edition change your suspension geometry and caster and camber angles. Every build that leaves Wild Willies gets a proper alignment before it goes back to the customer. Never skip this step.

Can I upgrade from a Covert Edition to an Everest Edition later?

You can, but most of your front suspension components will need to be swapped out in the process. If you think you will want more lift down the road, it is worth having that conversation with us upfront. See what the Everest Edition involves.

What tires do you recommend on a lifted F-150?

Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Trail Grapplers are some of our most popular choices because they ride well on the street and perform great when things get dirty. Toyo Open Country and BFGoodrich KO2 are also solid options depending on how you use your truck.

The Verdict

Two Builds. One Standard.

The Covert Edition is the right call for the daily driver who wants a serious, head-turning F-150 without overcomplicating their life. The Everest Edition is for the owner who wants to go all in and have the capability to back it up anywhere the road ends. Both builds are done the Wild Willies way: the right components, installed correctly, aligned properly, and built to last.

There is no wrong choice here. There is just the build that fits your life.
